Successfull launch of Dutch Version

Within the Netherlands the Blue Dog has been adopted by a Government backed agency called the LICG. They provided the funds for the whole print run of the Dutch language version, and this was launched in October 2007.

Successful German Launch

The German version of the Blue Dog was launched successfully at the recent DVG Congress held in Berlin. There was great interest in the Blue Dog stand within the commercial exhibition, and the German Association (DVG) have great plans to market to their members.

Nikoleta Novak is Blue Dog Champion in Serbia

Serbian veterinarian, Nikoleta Novak, together with her husband Denis, has worked tirelessly to get the Blue Dog translated into Serbian. She has also managed to collect a group of like minded enthusiasts to take the message into the community.

We look forward to the launch of the Serbian version early next year.

The Blue Dog at the IAHAIO Congress Japan 2007

Tiny De Keuster was invited to give an oral presentation on the development of the Blue Dog programme at the International Association of Human-Animal Interactions Organisations (IAHAIO) congress that was held in Tokyo.

In addition the Trust had a poster presentation that attracted much interest.

The Blue Dog in Puppy Parties

Like many veterinary practices, the Wylie Veterinary Centre organise “puppy parties” for families with new puppies. These are run in the evening by qualified veterinary nurses with the aim of helping to socialise the puppies and explain a range of preventative health care issues. Our own programme involves a series of evenings – once per week over five weeks.

The Blue Dog has recently been introduced as part of this programme. The nurses themselves found it interesting but found the negative message difficult to get across in the generally upbeat positive party atmosphere.

Providing participants with a free copy and inviting feedback has been more successful.

Blue Dog ceramic figures on display

Belgian veterinarian, Bea Wuijtten, proudly displays a range of Blue Dog figures she has made. Sadly her committment as a veterinarian means she does not have the time to go into mass production.

She is seen in the picture together with Blue Dog Trust Chairman, Tiny De Keuster.

The Blue Dog is launched at Prague Congress

The English version of the Blue Dog interactive CD and parent guide was launched during the joint World Small Animal Veterinary Association (WSAVA) and Federation of European Companion Animal Veterinary Association (FECAVA) Congress which took place in Prague .

Tiny De Keuster and Ray Butcher made a short presentation to the media at a specially arranged meeting. There was a lot of interest from the local Czech press who looked forward to the production of their own language version.

Many thanks are due to all those who had given financial support to help make this happen. Also thanks to Dr Jiri Berenek (President of the Czech Small Animal Vet Association) and his wife for their help in making all the local arrangements.
